Live Illustration

Live illustration is a fun way to make your event, meeting, or conference more accessible! It promotes understanding, helps people focus, and offers a wonderful visual takeaway for participants and for sharing on social media.

I started learning the art of live illustration (also called graphic recording, graphic facilitation, or sketchnoting) in October 2023, and quickly fell in love! Live illustration is the practice of visually capturing information - often done in meetings, during presentations, or at conferences.

Here are some examples of live illustration in action...

In Person Events

If you've seen live illustration in action, chances are it was at an in person conference or event! Capturing keynotes, panels, and presentations LIVE on BIG paper is a fun way to support visual learners, and continue conversations beyond the auditorium or conference room.

Virtual Events

Live capture can also happen virtually! Instead of drawing on paper, I draw digitally, and project the illustration onto my screen.

Strategic Plans and Reports

Sometimes strategic plans and reports can be a little dull... Why not make them more engaging with a visual summary!

Community Maps

Support community development projects or local tourism initiatives with a map of your community's assets or key attractions!
